Simmin'

First we went swimming (simmin'). Layton, as always, wanted in the pool as soon as we walked in the gate. I love his enthusiasm for things!

Hadley wasn't as thrilled with the water as Layton was so she sat poolside, had some snacks, and was perfectly content watching Bubba freak out over everything.

I'm not 100% sure why but lately Layton has been obsessed with his uncle Jacob. When he's around him it doesn't seem like it, but he talks about Jacob all day. He'll say "daddy, workin'...Jacob, workin'". So cute.

I really tried to get some good pictures of him for his 2nd birthday, but yeah, that wasn't so successful. These are the best of what I got.

Just because

I'm in a good mood today.

My husband wrote me a really sweet email today.

My kid isn't whining, yelling, or destroying the house.

My kid slept until noon (refer to previous entry).

& because the clouds look like this.

I'm not the only one in a good mood today.

Hadley and Layton got a special treat. Ice ceeeeeeeaaam (yes, there is no R). Ice cream melts really, really fast when it's 95 degrees out. Who would have guessed that?

Poor, poor ice ceam.

This is what my little boy was doing at 1:30 in the morning.

Cereal? Really?

Everything was "NO" tonight. I asked him if he wanted to sleep, "no sleep". I asked him if he wanted to color, "nope". That went on and on until I broke out the Fruit Loops box. He finished one bowl and asked for more so I fulfilled his request. One bite was all he wanted before he pushed the bowl away and asked to get out of his chair. I took him to his room, put in his Dora dvd, and then told him it was sleep time. There were a few whines and some other noise but he gave in and is now (finally) asleep.

It's really weird when he has nights like this. I always think something is wrong with him because he just acts so...not himself. Hopefully this trend isn't going to start up again.

First

I'm finally *actually* starting a blog. There's been several times in the past where I've gotten registered for one and then blanked when it came to actually post. That's not going to happen this time. I may not write every day (God knows I'm not that interesting), but I'll try my best to keep up. This is mainly for me to record  our life through word, and of course, pictures. Lots of pictures.

It's really late right now, but I've got a few pictures from today that I really like. We were just outside hanging out so Bubba could run around and eat his popsicle.  :)
