Goodness

I'd have to say that my all time favorite thing to cook nowadays is this. 

It is the most awesome pot roast I've ever made or eaten. LOVE IT! I do, however, blame PW for about 85% of my weight gain this past year. Most, if not all of her recipes call for butter. Real butter.

Butter.

The word alone makes my ass wider.

Anyway, since the carrots are our favorite part of the dish...

They're seriously sinister after they've roasted in all of the goodness for 3/4 hours.

Another thing I love are these little gems.

The store was out of the flavor that I usually get so I decided to try these. They're freakin' good! I love anything "wing" flavored so I had to give these a chance. 

I'm glad I did. You should try them.  :)

Like a comet

I cleaned our refrigerator today.

That doesn't seem like big news to most people but it happens so rarely around here that I must document it. I'm taking a picture, that way when I'm looking back at my blog months from now I'll be able to see exactly when the last time I cleaned it was.

Sad, I know.

Pointless post

I can't believe I've never tried this stuff before!

The last dandelion of the season. I know it's a weed, technically, but I've always liked them and make it a point to go around them when spraying weed killer. They're just cute. They remind me of childhood. Not mine, per say, just childhood in general.  :)

& I can't believe I got that shot with my big honkin' 70-300mm lens. 

Rainy day

I haven't had much, if anything to write about lately. Not too much goes on around here! Today it rained a lot. 

I wish it did more of that. I hope the heat is gone because it makes everything seem so miserable.

The turds got on each others nerves supar bad today and that, in turn, gets on my nerves. I'm not too sure how much more of the yelling, hitting, pushing, and screaming I can take. How hard is it to share? Seriously. This was one of the main sources of their altercations so it had to be removed for a little bit. Really, a book?

It's all good though because I just put my PW beer roast in the oven. I seriously can't wait until it's done.

If there's a little extra then there's no sense in wasting, plus, it's been a long day.  :)

The underdog

Normally when I want to take pictures of our dogs it's always Mena that gets all of the glory. She poses and looks dramatically off into the sunset.

Sulli, on the other hand, is never still enough for me to get an acceptable shot. He's always up in my face or has his butt turned to the camera. This time, however, he was on his chain while Mena got to eat so he really had no other option BUT to be still. This is what I got.

I was about to give up on getting an ungoofy picture when something briefly caught his attention.

I guess he can be handsome when he wants to be.

3 years ago I married an awesome guy. Our ups have been the best high I can imagine, and our lows have been almost unspeakable, but I truly love my husband. Nothing can keep me from wanting to be with him.

Fun

Yesterday was a good day. I went to lunch with some girls that I've know since I was about 4 years old and we had a really good time just sitting there eating and talking. One of them is moving today. :(

The hubby and I went out to eat on his lunchbreak, finally able to have a little us time. It was nice. Something about doing those simple things with him makes me really happy. We don't have to be on the go constantly or spending a lot of money, just as long as we can be together, just the two of us, every now and then. That's much needed. 

We got bored late last night so I decided to finish my cupcakes (thanks to Sarah for the awesome idea!). I got help with the frosting part.

He made an "A" for me.

& he scratched his back so that I could get this super hot picture of him. Or maybe I'm just sneaky.

We made a super late and super yummy dinner together. He wanted to be my hand model.

I got the cupcakes frosted and ready for total domination.

Did you know that they have a chocolate chip cookie ball inside of them for total badassness? Yes, that's a word.

& of course no post of mine would be complete without Bubba. He wanted you to know that real men rock pink.

Simmin'

First we went swimming (simmin'). Layton, as always, wanted in the pool as soon as we walked in the gate. I love his enthusiasm for things!

Hadley wasn't as thrilled with the water as Layton was so she sat poolside, had some snacks, and was perfectly content watching Bubba freak out over everything.

I'm not 100% sure why but lately Layton has been obsessed with his uncle Jacob. When he's around him it doesn't seem like it, but he talks about Jacob all day. He'll say "daddy, workin'...Jacob, workin'". So cute.

I really tried to get some good pictures of him for his 2nd birthday, but yeah, that wasn't so successful. These are the best of what I got.

I'm in a good mood today.

My husband wrote me a really sweet email today.

My kid isn't whining, yelling, or destroying the house.

My kid slept until noon (refer to previous entry).

& because the clouds look like this.

I'm not the only one in a good mood today.

Hadley and Layton got a special treat. Ice ceeeeeeeaaam (yes, there is no R). Ice cream melts really, really fast when it's 95 degrees out. Who would have guessed that?

Poor, poor ice ceam.
